Gayle has been a professional body worker since 1989 starting her practice in San Diego, California and presently in  Asheville, North Carolina since 2006.

Her business name, Holistic Symmetry, means balancing the whole person (body, mind and spirit), and this is exactly what
Gayle focuses on in her work.  

Gayle Sovinee specializes in Cranial Sacral Therapy/Somato Emotional Release, Basic Lymphatic Drainage as a practitioner and Continuing Education Provider.  Other modalities offered include Massage Therapy, Visceral Manipulation and Chakra Balancing.

Gayle is also working on her studies to become a Master Herbalist through The Clayton College of Natural Health.

Gayle received her basic training at Body Mind College in 1989. She continued her studies at the School of Healing Arts, receiving her certification as a Holistic Health Practitioner and completing over one thousand hours of education.

In November 1993, Gayle received her National Certification from the Board For Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork.

Since 1989 Gayle has been the head of Holistic Symmetry, specializing in the health of both body and mind. In addition to her private clientele, Gayle has serviced government agencies, financial institutions, hospitals, airlines and senior centers. She subcontracts with local chiropractors, physical therapists, doctors, psychologists and several health care facilities.


Gayle has been an active member of several  Chambers of Commerce, and currently a member of the Asheville area Chamber of Commerce, Gayle also volunteers her services for several other community groups such as Asheville Downtown Association, recently elected as Vice Chairperson for The City Mayors Committee for Veteran Affairs and taking over as Director for Helios Warriors, Inc, a Veterans complementary Health Care Clinic.

Since 1992 Gayle has been a member of the Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals organization, a national group that provides policy and procedures, insurance, and referrals to its members. She is also a member of the International Association of Healthcare Practitioners. The National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork approved Gayle  as an Individual Continuing Education Approved Provider.
